Casual Chinese Plus in Sharonville offers extensive menu with authentic flavors
Founded upon four decades of experience, a commitment to serving customers and an expansive menu of entrees that deliver authentic flavors, Casual Chinese Plus recently opened its doors in the Cincinnati area.
“People like us. They like the food and enjoy it. We make people feel good, and that’s why I stay in this business. It’s not just the food itself, but the price, and great service. Our customers are our friends,” says owner Harry Hsu, who owns the restaurant with his wife, Minnie.
The restaurant has a devoted clientele base that frequent the establishment’s award-winning sister location, Casual Chinese at 88 Carothers Road in Newport. Casual Chinese has been in Newport for 30 years and has repeatedly been voted Best in NKY.
“In our restaurants, we say, ‘Hey, see you tomorrow,’ and people like it. They say, ‘OK, see you tomorrow,’ and when customers visit, they try to say it first. They say, ‘Hey, I gotcha,’ but we really mean it. We care about our customers, we serve them quality food, and we want them to be happy,” Hsu says.
Casual Chinese Plus at 11955 Lebanon Road in Sharonville has a bigger menu than Casual Chinese and specializes in Chinese, Thai, Sichuan, Cantonese and dim sum. Lunch Express Specials are available from 10:30 a.m. to 2 p.m., Monday through Friday, and Daily Lunch Specials are available every day until 3 p.m., except holidays. There are a wide variety of dim sum options, which are also available for brunch on Saturdays and Sundays from 10:30 a.m. to 3 p.m.
“With Chinese food, they talk about three things: being colorful with the food, the flavor and the taste. A lot of Chinese restaurants, they don’t have the flavor. We stress the importance of flavor, and people like the food,” Hsu says.
Each dish is skillfully prepared by veteran chefs Dong Yang and Hui Chen. Manager Harry Ooi also serves customers and takes care of everyone. Harry and Minnie are both actively involved in the business, too.
“Our job is to make everybody happy, and we strive for that. That’s the main thing,” Hsu says, “We’ve worked hard from day one and we are lucky to have the best chefs and manager.”
Popular menu items include Sesame Chicken, General’s Chicken and a Surf and Turf, to name a few. The menu also features a variety of Chinese appetizers such as Chicken Egg Rolls, Pork Wontons and Pan-Fried Dumplings, and soups, including Hot’ n Sour Soup, Wonton Soup and Egg Drop Soup.
“Come see us, we offer the best,” Hsu says.
