This year has been difficult for all of us, but Greater Cincinnati nonprofits truly stepped up to help us all. We saw the Cincinnati Art Museum explore new ways to appreciate art through its online CAM Connect. The Freestore Foodbank expanded its holiday food distribution due to more families experiencing food insecurity. And The Point moved its classes for individuals with intellectual/developmental disabilities online.

The extra work being done by nonprofits has also led many of us to help out, too. How many of us brought items to humanitarian aid organizations like Matthew 25: Ministries, adopted a pet from places like OAR Ohio Alleycat Resource, or donated to St. Vincent de Paul?

We created the Greater Cincinnati Nonprofit of the Year Awards to celebrate some of the good that has happened this year. Local nonprofits are making a difference and they deserve to be honored for it. Apparently, many of you feel the same way as thousands of people voted in these inaugural awards. We were blown away by how many of you chose to participate.

So let’s take that giving, supportive attitude and dedication to doing good with us into 2021. If we can keep this up, the coming year will be a better one for sure.
