The West Chester-Liberty Chamber Alliance adapts to the changing needs of its members and the community
The West Chester-Liberty Chamber Alliance may be one of the largest chambers in the region, but that doesn’t mean it’s resting on its laurels. The chamber is constantly looking for new ways to serve members and the community.
“The West Chester-Liberty Chamber Alliance is a dynamic, influential and vital organization dedicated to promoting economic growth and enhancing the quality of life in the West Chester and Liberty townships and along the Interstate 75 growth corridor. By connecting local businesses, fostering community engagement and advocating for a variant economic environment, The Chamber Alliance serves as a conduit for networking, collaboration and valued support,” says Joe Hinson, president and CEO.
This dedication can be seen in the chamber’s new and continuing programs. One continuing program is Leadership 21, an eight-month leadership program.
“Leadership 21 is designed to open and maintain a constructive dialogue among all parties concerned with making West Chester and Liberty townships better places to live and work,” says Yasmen Brown-Jones, director of Membership Services and Leadership 21 “Leadership 21 is an all-inclusive, nonpartisan, multiracial and multicultural leadership development program. Each class of 25-30 participants is selected from applications and is comprised of business and community leaders representing a cross-section of our region.”
Participants learn about the key issues facing the region and how each sector is connected and depends on the others while gaining an appreciation of the understanding and cooperation the community needs to thrive.
“The experience also leaves participant with long lasting new connections and collaborations,” says Brown-Jones, “This training will help individual’s tap into their individual potential, as well as learn how to see and help bring the best of the in others.”
Another way the chamber is helping members is by partnering with the African American Chamber of Commerce of Greater Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky (AACC).
“The collaboration between the West Chester-Liberty Chamber Alliance and the AACC through the Minority Business Assistance Center (MBAC) program promotes diversity within our business community and aims to support women, minority, EDGE and veteran owned businesses in our region,” says Hinson.
The AACC attended one of the chamber’s monthly events, which led the two organizations to recognize their similar values and interests.
“It was determined that their MBAC Certification Program was a wonderful way for us to collaborate and make a positive impactful in our region,” says Hinson. “It provides valued business support services, networking opportunities, access to funding and essential business development services, advocacy and representation, and community engagement. This partnership reflects a commitment to promoting economic empowerment and ensuring that all businesses have the tools they need to thrive, while enhancing a more inclusive business environment in our region.”
In addition to assisting businesses, the chamber has launched a new community calendar to help everyone in the community.
“The community has long requested a centralized calendar where they can easily find information about local events. Both chamber members and non-members often reach out to ask if we’re aware of certain meetings or activities,” says Tim Essex, director of Marketing and Public Relations for the chamber. “To provide added value to our members and the wider community, we decided to fulfill this request. There are a variety of activities that people can find, from family fun, live music, art event, outdoor activities and township meetings.
