Several new restaurants and shops now call the North home
It seems that 2022 left as quickly as it came. Each year, new businesses open their doors in the Tristate, giving you even more opportunities to shop and eat local. The region north of Cincinnati is no exception when it comes to being a hub for entrepreneurs looking to bring their business dreams to life. Here’s a rundown of all things new when it comes to shopping and dining—from Ronald Reagan Highway to Middletown.
Warped Wing Brewery
The Dayton-based brewery opened its doors to the Mason location earlier this year. The Mason brew pub and smokery gets its name from the famous invention by the Wright Brothers called “wing warping,” a system designed for lateral roll control of a fixed-wing aircraft. The logo of the brewery includes a Wright Brothers plane and the brand’s theme pays homage to the region’s most famous brothers. The beer menu features a variety of in-house brews. Warped Wing Mason is located at 5650 Tylersville Road in Mason.
Son of a Butcher Steakhouse
Son of a Butcher Steakhouse prides itself on the relationships it fosters with family-owned farms and suppliers so it can provide guests with the best tasting steaks you can find. The restaurant only works with ranchers who have a long-standing commitment to caring for the well-being of their animals with compassion and respect. The meat at Son of a Butcher (aside from some of the imported Wagyu) is from cattle born and raised at the finest pastures you can find in the Midwest. Son of a Butcher is located at 7630 Gibson St. in Liberty Township.
Gold Scoop Creamery
Gold Scoop Creamery is a new hand-scooped ice cream shop that recently opened at Summit Park in Blue Ash. The store features art-deco inspired decor along with 16 ice cream flavors made in-house. Some of those flavors include banana peanut butter cup, cotton candy, cookies and cream and chocolate fudge brownie. Other ice cream options aside from the traditional hand-scoop include sundaes, ice cream sandwiches, floats, shakes, dairy-free and gluten-free ice cream, cookies and waffle cones. Gold Scoop Creamery is located at 10235 Summit Parkway.
New Life Furniture Bank
The region’s only furniture bank, New Life Furniture Bank, opened its doors at the Sharonville Plaza this past summer. The store is the area’s first furniture-focused thrift store and aims to advance its mission of turning empty houses into homes for those starting over from significant life challenges. The store offers a highly curated shopping experience for affordable home furnishings and hidden treasures—all in a 15,000-square-foot facility. New Life Furniture Bank is located at 12037 Lebanon Road in Sharonville.
Iron Rose Mercantile
When you shop at Iron Rose Mercantile, you’ll find an eclectic mix of home decor, clothing, gifts, hats, jewelry and more. To make the shopping experience even better, about 90% of the store’s merchandise is sourced locally, with several local artists and businesses selling their items in the storefront. The store also hosts a variety of workshops. You can shop a line of boutique clothing in the store including denim and blouses as well as a vintage and second-hand selection for one-of-a-kind accessories, clothing, decor and handbags. Iron Rose Mercantile is located at 446 Middletown Eaton Road in Middletown.
