Trick-or-treat at the zoo, parties, beer pairings and haunts highlight Halloween happenings
With Halloween quickly approaching, many are looking to make plans for Halloween fun. Pick from a number of festive events happening in Cincinnati during the Halloween season.
Taft’s Halloween Beer and Donut Pairing—Oct. 26
Taft’s Ale House will bring back its doughnut and beer tasting in partnership with Peace, Love + Donuts. Tickets to the self-guided event include a flight of four beers along with a donut paired with each. Ticket holders will also receive $1 off pints for the day.

Thursday Art Play: Halloween Party—Oct. 28
The Contemporary Arts Center’s weekly Art Play program offers a family friendly way to celebrate Halloween. On Thursday morning, the center will offer Halloween-themed art projects in Washington Park before a costume parade for the kids. Afterward, treats will be provided, and adults can take part in a yoga session.

Halloween Bash—Oct. 28
The Woodward Theater will partner with Tender Mercies, a nonprofit organization dedicated to helping homeless adults with mental illness, to host a Halloween Bash. The costume party will be hosted by Christian Gill, a local Food Network chef, and Bridget England from 96 Rock Mornings, who will join DJ Savannah Sexton to entertain guests and raise money for Tender Mercies.

Harlem Nights Halloween Day Party—Oct. 31
Guests are encouraged to wear their best “Harlem Nights” costume at this party, dedicated to the 1989 movie. Hosted at the 1940s-inspired Nostalgia Wine and Jazz Club, the party will feature special drinks, live music and costume contests.

HallZOOween—Oct. 30 and 31
Those looking to bring the kids along can head over to the Cincinnati Zoo and Botanical Garden, where zoo admission for the day also includes access to trick-or-treat stations, Halloween-themed rides and Hide and Seek Fiona.

King’s Island Halloween Haunt—Oct. 22, 23, 29 and 30
Kings Island’s Halloween Haunt was voted 2021’s Best Theme Park Halloween Event by USA Today readers. The park features five frightful mazes, four scare zones, sinister live entertainment featuring Drums of the Dead and Monster Rock, and “hundreds of horrifying creatures lurking in the fog and hiding in every corner of the park.” Kings Island says it does not recommend the Haunt for children under age 13.
