Beacon Orthopaedics & Sports Medicine treats patients of all ages and activity levels.

Beacon Orthopaedics & Sports Medicine bolsters its team

Since 1996, there’s been an organization that has played a key role to keep local athletes healthy. But it’s also played a role in the overall health of the entire region, whether you’re on the playing field or not.

Beacon Orthopaedics & Sports Medicine is a fast-growing practice providing orthopedic care to the Tristate. With 14 locations spread out across Southwest Ohio, Southeast Indiana and Northern Kentucky, it’s grown into a nationally recognized and respected care provider. It also just added a new office in West Chester as well as four highly experienced and credentialed new doctors.

Beacon’s prestigious clients include the Cincinnati Reds, Xavier Musketeers, Wittenberg Tigers, Mount St. Joseph Lions, Wilmington Quakers and more than 30 different high school athletic programs across our region.

“It’s true that our sports medicine affiliations give us a very strong foundation,” says Dr. Peter Cha, president of Beacon Orthopaedics & Sports Medicine. “However, we treat patients of all ages, from the 5-year-old child with an injury to a middle-aged weekend warrior to an active senior who needs a hip or knee replacement.”

“We are fortunate that we take care of multiple sports programs across our area,” adds Andy Blankemeyer, CEO of Beacon. “It’s a part of our mission to take care of these young athletes and get them back on the field as soon as possible. We have been in the Cincinnati market and community for a very long time. These are deep and lasting relationships we’re building with athletes and families and a big reason why we’ve built the reputation we’ve built.”

Beacon, with more than 725 medical and customer service associates supporting its 40 physicians, specializes in general orthopedic surgery, total joint replacements, minimally invasive arthroscopic surgery, spine medicine and surgery, sports medicine and more. Over the years, Beacon has added physical therapy, imaging, athletic training, durable medical equipment and other services as well.

“We’re one of the largest independent orthopedic practices in the country, but we’ve also developed strong affiliations with many of the major health care providers in the region, including TriHealth, The Christ Hospital, West Chester Hospital/UC Health and Mercy Health,” adds Cha. “One of our physicians, Dr. Joel Sorger, is a tumor and musculoskeletal surgeon at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital as well. Those partnerships are invaluable part of our mission to give our patients the very best possible care.”

Beacon’s growth has come through its focus on three guiding principles.

“We’ve built our practice around quality, access and value,” says Blankemeyer. “We strive to provide instant access to the highest quality care at an affordable price. And we’ve structured our entire patient experience around these principles. As we expand our footprint by adding new specialties and new high-quality physicians, our focus continues to be providing patients with a world-class experience every time they walk through our doors.”

That mantra that has proven successful as Beacon continues to grow. Its most recent addition features four established local physicians who previously served with Wellington Orthopaedic & Sports Medicine.

These doctors include Dr. Ronald Hess, an osteopath, exercise physiologist and orthopedic surgeon with expertise in sports medicine and knee and shoulder treatments; Dr. Brian Rottinghaus, an orthopedic surgeon with more than a decade of experience; Dr. Aarti Singla, who specializes in non-surgical care for spine, joint and an array of pain issues; and Dr. Scott True, a total joint replacement surgeon who is certified by the American Board of Orthopaedics and is a member of the Arthroscopy Association of North America.

“Welcoming physicians of this caliber is just one way to enhance the three basic tenets at the heart of our practice,” adds Cha. “Expanding our care delivery team allows us to provide the highest quality care at the best value to even more patients across Greater Cincinnati.”
