The Cincinnati Zoo & Botanical Garden celebrates spring with annual tulip displays 

As Cincinnati is moving into spring, the Cincinnati Zoo & Botanical Garden is having their annual Zoo Blooms. This is where the botanical garden aspect comes to life with one of the largest tulip displays in the world. It is one of only two accredited botanical gardens in Ohio. Along with the displayed tulips, the Cincinnati Zoo also has daffodils, hyacinth, flowering trees, shrubs and other spring bulbs that add to the colorful madness.  

Throughout the month of April, the zoo is offering free admission during its Tunes & Blooms event starting at 5 p.m. on Thursday evenings. At 6 p.m., local and live music performances start. On April 16, the Shelby Lore Band and Cecil Jackson & Dry Ridge perform. Then The Tillers and Stick & Bindle on April 23. Locals and visitors can enjoy the music while seeing over 100,000 tulips in a variety of colors.  

As guests walk throughout the zoo, they can also visit the indoor animal habitats, including the Reptile House and Manatee Springs until 8 p.m. There are also a handful of outdoor animal habitats, including Africa, Giraffe Ridge, Cat Canyon, Wolf Woods, Roo Valley and the new Bear Ridge habitat, open for viewing until dusk.  

Guests can also enjoy pizza from the LaRosa’s truck along with other food stations in Vine Street Village and The Grove. Concession food will be available at Hop’s, Trucker’s, Wild Burger, The Coop and Mai Thai’s Market as well.  

With something for all ages, it is a seasonal experience that captures the beauty and energy of the city in bloom. Whether guests are coming for the vibrant tulip displays, live music, or a chance to wander and explore the zoo in the evening hours, Zoo Blooms and Tunes & Blooms offers a perfect way to celebrate spring in Cincinnati.
