Bengals encourage fans to participate in stadium light show
While the Bengals players lit up cigars from Joe Burrows after handling the Baltimore Ravens last Sunday, it’s now the fans turn to help light up Paycor Stadium during the playoff game this Sunday. If you’re heading to the game, this is your chance to be an active participant in “Gamedey!”
Just prior to player introductions and before the halftime show with Bootsy Collins, instructions will be displayed on Paycor Stadium’s big screens. Watch the video for complete instructions, hold up your phone when prompted, and you’ll be a part of the Show. However, you must update your Bengals app in order to access tickets and participate in the light show. Make sure to allow microphone and camera access as the light show will access these features.
To participate, you will need one of these versions of the Bengals app: Android 3.4.9 or iOS 5.1.6.
Just in case you decided to camp out in a cave, the Bengals bested the Baltimore Ravens last weekend sealing back-to-back AFC North division titles with a convincing 27-16 win. It was the first time in team history the franchise sealed back-to-back titles in the AFC North.
That set the stage for Burrow’s cigar soiree, welcoming Bengals players and coaches to the 2023 post-season, prompting playmaker Ja’Marr Chase to say, “Smoke ‘em if you got ‘em.”
No one, of course, is cooler than Burrow, the cold-blooded warrior with 11 straight wins in December and January after throwing his Bengal-record 35th touchdown pass of the season while becoming the NFL’s all-time completion percentage leader on a day that he said wasn’t his best.
“Did not like the way I played today,” said Burrow after his uncharacteristic 60-percent passing. “I missed throws I usually make, but I won’t miss those again.”
Burrow has also given his teammates this January an air of confidence as they go into the tournament where only two AFC teams have more than their 22 wins in the last two seasons, the No. 1 seed Chiefs and No. 2 Bills. Their eighth straight win is longest in the AFC and tied for the longest in a Bengals season.
