17 local restaurants are serving up their own Fish Frys this Lenten season
Fish fry season is upon us and there is no shortage of meatless dining options in Greater Cincinnati. While the church fish fry is a time-honored tradition, what if someone in your family doesn’t eat seafood? Or if you want to try something new? That’s where our local restaurant scene comes into play. Many restaurants have added special items for those wanting to avoid meat while still serving their regular menu. We found 17 restaurants for people wanting to dine out this Lent.
Ari & Mia’s Small Town Café

It’s best to order ahead if you want to try Ari & Mia’s. Dine-in and carry-out is offered 10:30 a.m.-2 p.m., with additional carry-out only offered after 2 p.m. until the restaurant runs out. You can order a family fish bucket, a buffalo fish sandwich, a grilled cheese featuring granny smith apples and gouda, and more.

Braxton Cincinnati is hosting its annual fish fry tonight starting at 5 p.m. The menu features a Braxton Beer-battered fish sandwich with crinkle fries.
Chloe’s Eatery

Chloe’s Eatery will open early Fridays through Lent, 11:30 a.m.-8 p.m., to give people more time to enjoy its fish fry. It will be serving a brined and breaded fish sandwich with tartar sauce and slaw on a brioche bun.

Enjoy a fish fry any day of the week at HighGrain during Lent. Fish and chhips, with beer-battered cod, malted slaw and tartar sauce, and a fried cod sandwich, featuring coleslaw, tartar sauce, pickled red onions and French fries, have been added to the menu.

For those wanting the biggest fish sandwich possible, try Lehr’s Prime Market noon to 6:30 p.m. on Lenten Fridays. It will be serving what it’s calling its “Huge” haddock sandwich basket with three hush puppies, coleslaw, puppy sauce and tartar sauce.
Lobsta Bakes of Maine

While Lobsta Bakes of Maine always sells high-quality fish, it will be serving up a fish and chips today to support a local school. Ten percent of sales will be donated to Wilson Elementary.
