Lent offers many opportunities for some great fish, shrimp and more

You don’t have to observe Lent to pick up some great fish sandwiches or dinners at local Catholic parishes and other organizations and businesses.

Lent traditionally begins on Ash Wednesday (Feb. 17 this year) and ends on Easter Weekend. Many adherents celebrate the period by fasting, observing spiritual discipline and abstaining from eating meat.
