Pick your pumpkin and have some fall fun at one of these 10 local farms
Halloween is almost here, so it’s the perfect time for you and your family to pick pumpkins to carve. Instead of picking one out at a store, though, make a day out of it and head to one of these local farms. In addition to picking a pumpkin in a pumpkin patch, you’ll be able to enjoy additional attractions like corn mazes, seasonal food, scavenger hunts and more.
Blooms & Berries Farm Market & Garden Center
9669 S. state Route 48, Loveland
Open through Oct. 31, 9 a.m.-7 p.m. daily
Blooms & Berries’ pumpkin patch is part of its Fall on the Farm event. In addition to picking the perfect pumpkin, families can enjoy fall treats like apple cider and homemade pies, a corn maze, hayride and more. Tickets required and prices vary by day.
Brown’s Family Farm Market
11620 Hamilton-Cleves Road, Hamilton
Open through Oct. 31, 9 a.m.-7 p.m. daily
Fall Market is open daily, but head to the farm on the weekends for Fall Family Fun Weekends. Admission is free and visitors can partake in the corn maze, straw maze and pallet maze before picking their pumpkins. A ticketed hayride is also available.
Burwinkel Farms
4359 Hamilton Cleves Road, Ross
Open 9 a.m.-7 p.m.
Offers hayride ($10 per person) and walking ($6 per person) options for pumpkin hunting families. All attractions—including two corn mazes, sunflower fields and a scavenger hunt—and a small pumpkin and sunflower are included with admission.
Hidden Valley Orchards
5474 N. state Route 48, Lebanon
Open weekends through Oct. 30, 10 a.m.-4 p.m.
Families can take a hayride out to Hidden Valley Orchards’ pumpkin patch to pick their perfect gourd or pumpkin. Apples are also available for U Pack in the market barn.
Irons Fruit Farm
1640 Stubb Mills Road, Lebanon
Open through Oct. 31, M-Sa 9 a.m.-6 p.m., Su 10 a.m.-6 p.m.
Take a hayride to a 14-acre corn maze or the farm’s pumpkin patch. Check with the farm before you go to see if it’s offering U Pick apples that day and to check on that day’s food vendors.
Jackson Family Farm
6760 W. Alexandria Road, Middletown
Open weekends in October through Oct. 23, Sa 11 a.m.-6 p.m., Su noon-5 p.m.
Fall on Jackson Family Farm includes farm animals, pedal tractors, a hayride to feed the cattle, corn maze and a pumpkin cannon in addition to fall food and the pumpkin patch. Tickets are $14 per person, but free for children 2 and under.
Kleather’s Pumpkin Patch
90 W. Central Ave., Springboro
Open daily in October, 10 a.m.-7 p.m.
Seasonal fall store and pumpkin patch in historic Springboro. After you pick your pumpkin, make sure to save time to see the pumpkin carriage, giant shoe, pumpkin train and Oz characters.
McMonigle Farms
5490 Dixie Highway, Franklin
Open weekends in October, noon-6 p.m.
McMonigle Farms’ Pumpkin Fest offers many things to do outside the pumpkin patch, including hayrides, a sunflower patch, cow train rides, a corn cannon and homemade seasonal treats.
Niederman Family Farm

The farm’s fall festival adds additional fun activities to your pumpkin picking adventure. Activities include a corn maze, wagon rides, an obstacle course and more. Ticketed event with timed entry. Ticket prices vary.
Windmill Farm Market

Open weekends in October, 11 a.m.-5 p.m.
Windmill Farm Market’s Spooktacular event features an adventure hayride, pumpkin bounce pad, cornstalk tunnel and play areas. Ticket prices depend on which activities you choose. If you can’t make it on the weekend, the farm market, cornstalk tunnel and play areas are also available Wednesday through Friday.
