Add your love of films to your calendar this spring
Just in time for warm weather, drive-in movie theaters are starting to offer showing times again. It’s a great opportunity to catch up with friends, or make it a family outing to capture new memories in 2021. Here are a few drive-ins in Greater Cincinnati that are open or will be opening soon:
Starlite Drive-In
Located at 2255 State Route/Ohio 125 in Amelia, the Cincinnati favorite opened this past weekend. Starlite Drive-In is the first to open for the season. Tickets can be bought online or in person at the Starlite box office. If you exit a car, you are asked to wear a mask and continue to social distance. This year, the drive-in is also celebrating its 74th anniversary.
Hollywood Drive-In Theatre
Hollywood Drive-In Theatre, 1538 Cedar Ave., is opening soon! With a vintage style and movies for all ages, it is a hot up-and-coming spot. Admission is $25 a car. You are also able to bring your own snacks, although the drive-in will bring food from local businesses you can support. There is touchless check-in, and cars will be parked six feet apart.
Holiday Auto Theatre
At 1816 Old Oxford Road, Holiday Auto Theatre has been offering 60 years of drive-in fun. The theater is offering a must-see lineup of movies when it reopens in April. You can buy tickets online or in person. If you bring food in, there is a $5 fee; however, you will receive a $2 discount on a $10 purchase in the refreshment center. Masks are recommended if you leave the car, and social distancing is required. The first two movies that the Holiday Auto Theatre is showing are The Black Widow and A Quiet Place Part II.
