New locations to shop for Japanese ingredients, find designer accessories and dine on Latin-inspired dishes
Have you ever passed a restaurant and sworn it wasn’t there two weeks ago? Or do your friends keep talking about the new brewery you’ve never heard of? If that sounds like you, don’t worry.
The surburbs north of Cincinnati are filled with delicious restaurants and charming shops—with new ones popping up all the time, or old favorites changing locations. Because the North is so large, it’s easy to miss new things. Here are some of the best new spots to eat, drink, shop and play in the North.
Coco Sakula Japanese Grocery Store
Authentic Japanese food is distinctive and delicious, but it can be hard to source the necessary ingredients to cook it at home. Coco Sakula is a Japanese grocery store, offering Japanese products that “cater to the needs of both Japanese residents and those with an affinity for Japanese cuisine and culture,” according to Coco Sakula’s website.
The store, which opened in June, stocks Japanese snacks, beverages and ingredients along with prepared foods like sushi.

Designer Items and More
If you love all things designer, you’re in luck. Designer Items and More expanded to a larger location near Montgomery Inn earlier this summer.
The new location features even more award-winning women’s fashion—including handbags, shoes and jewelry. Some upscale brands featured include Chanel, Dior, Dolce & Gabbana and Christian Louboutin.

In the Game
Fun-seekers, get ready. In the Game is set to open at Liberty Center soon. Construction began earlier this summer on the 17,000-square-foot family entertainment center, which will be operated by game room design company Family Entertainment Group.
The entertainment center was originally slated to open in 2019, but various stumbling blocks and pandemic-related concerns pushed construction back several years. When open, In the Game will feature arcade games, ax throwing, escape rooms, virtual reality simulators and a 3D motion ride theater.

Livery
Montgomery’s newest tapas-style restaurant is Livery, serving up food and cocktails inspired by Latin cuisine. Cunningham Restaurant Group, which also operates BRU Burger Bar, opened Livery in April.
The menu offers empanadas, tacos and various other small plates that nod to the cuisine of South and Central America.
