The Marmalade Lily connects visitors to nature with its u-pick events and workshops

In addition to providing flowers for private events, The Marmalade Lily teaches people how to create their own centerpieces.

Sometimes, you just need to get outside and into nature. The Marmalade Lily, a flower farm and event venue in Loveland, is ready to help you do just.

“Our slogan is ‘Gather, create, celebrate,’ so [we’re looking for] any way we can get people out on property to gather together, whether that’s u-pick or our ladies night; to create, we have flower making classes and wreath arranging classes and all of that good stuff; and to celebrate, we do weddings, showers, graduation parties and all of that,” says Claire Purcell, The Marmalade Lily special events coordinator.

The venue’s team is always ready to assist people planning private events, but The Marmalade Lily also hosts u-pick events throughout the year.

On Wednesdays 6-9 p.m. and Sundays 9-11 a.m. through October, you can visit the venue and cut your own blooms from the gardens.

“We grow over a hundred different blooms on property … throughout the entire year. So by July and August you’ll see gorgeous hydrangeas, coneflower, snapdragons and Veronica,” says Purcell. “Dahlias are huge on our property and those start to come in. We’ll see those continue to bloom through fall, which is exciting.”

Tickets are $5 each, and admission is free for children 12 and under. Each flower is priced individually, from $1 for a zinnia to $4 for a hydrangea.

In addition to u-pick events, The Marmalade Lily hosts workshops, kids’ activities and more. Upcoming events including Garden Yoga on Aug. 24 and Children’s Storytime in the U-Pick Gardens on the first Saturday of each month through October.

In the fall and winter, you can sign up for a Thanksgiving centerpiece class, which will be held Nov. 25, a wreath-making class on Dec. 4 and a Christmas centerpiece class on Dec. 11.

“We did something similar around Easter, which was beautiful,” says Purcell. “It was like a living centerpiece as opposed to cut flowers. So it was kind of a mix between a floral arranging class and a garden class. It was so much fun. So we’re excited to do something like that over the holidays as well.”

Purcell adds that the classes are suitable for peoples of all skill levels, as the instructor will pass on as much knowledge as they can.

If you’re interested in attending any of these events, Purcell recommends visiting The Marmalade Lily’s website (themarmaladelily.com) to RSVP, purchase tickets and learn about other upcoming events. You can also learn more about the venue and private events at the site.

“It’s just a wonderful, beautiful space to connect with friends and family,” says Purcell.
