The FotoFocus Center’s inaugural exhibition showcases photos from across the country

FotoFocus Center’s “Big Tent” exhibition brings artists together to examine the nature of the American public. This is the inaugural exhibition for the new FotoFocus Center, which opened in May at 228 E. Liberty St. in Over-the-Rhine. 

“Big Tent” reflects the foundational ideals of FotoFocus as an organization: principles of democracy, creativity, experimentation and clear-eyed realism. Partially inspired by the poem “In This Place (An American Lyric)” by Amanda Gorman, the exhibition will display images from various cities in the United States, celebrating the diversity of the American population. FotoFocus continues this celebration by including a diverse ensemble of artists in this exhibition. 

FotoFocus is a nonprofit organization built to celebrate photography as a medium and to create dialogue between contemporary photography and the history of photography. Since its beginning in 2010, FotoFocus has presented over 800 projects and awarded over 600 grants to lens-based arts such as photography and film. The opening of the FotoFocus Center is a significant milestone for the organization. 

Big Tent will be on display at the FotoFocus Center until August 22, 2026.
