Celebrate this International Women’s Day with two events March 7 and 8 at MadTree Brewing in partnership with Power to Pursue
International Women’s Day is March 8, and MadTree Brewing is teaming up with Power to Pursue to host the Ascending Women Event Series on March 7 and 8.
The events celebrating women in art include Ascending Women on March 7 from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. This event will feature a panel discussion with local influential women in art, special exhibits and 25 booths showcasing female makers and vendors. MadTree’s Barrel Room will host a Women in Art Showcase on March 8 from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. The Women in Art Showcase is free to the public and features an interactive art experience, more than 30 female artists and vendors and additional art exhibits.

“International Women’s Day is one of our favorite celebrations here at MadTree. The female-identifying employees come together to craft incredible beverages and bring to life amazing events,” said Rhiannon Hoeweler, the Vice President of Experience & Impact at MadTree. “For the second year in a row we’ve partnered with Power to Pursue, continuing to focus on growing bigger and getting better, and finding new and exciting ways to celebrate all the amazing women in our community and beyond.”
Power to Pursue is a movement founded by Rachel DesRochers and aims to foster safe spaces where women feel supported, celebrated and seen.
“Power to Pursue is so proud to work with MadTree to bring this programming to life,” said DesRochers. “To highlight so many women who are creating and building businesses in our backyard is a dream come true!”
Tickets to Ascending Women can be purchased on MadTree’s website (walk-up tickets are also welcome). Clothing donations will be accepted both evenings to support Dress for Success and Adventure Crew.
In addition to the two events, MadTree is also creating a specialty beer and Sway to honor Frida Kahlo, Mexican surrealist painter and artist, activist and feminist icon.

The limited-edition Sway Tequila and Soda with prickly pear, lime and jalapeno, called “Friday,” is available in the taproom and local stores. MadTree also partnered with Pink Boots Society to launch “Flower Crown,” a new IPA that is dedicated to Frida Kahlo and available in the taproom.

“From concept to liquid creation, this is a team effort by the women at MadTree,” said Brittany Frey, Production Manager. “Frida and Flower Crown are the newest editions in an International Women’s Day tradition that spans the last six years. We’re proud to serve customers products that taste great and tell the stories of women who’ve made their mark on the world.”
