The Cincinnati staple will be free Thursday for any customer who purchases a Pepsi product

Gold Star will celebrate National Chili Dog Day Thursday, July 27 with a tasty promotion—a free cheese coney for any customer who purchases a regular-sized Pepsi product.  

As described by the restaurant, Gold Star’s classic cheese coney features a hot dog with “mustard, Gold Star’s famous 13-spice family recipe chili, a steamed hot dog bun and topped with onions and shredded cheddar cheese.”  

The one-day-only promotion is available through dine-in, carryout, online ordering and drive-thru. All 60 Gold Star locations in the Tri-State region are participating in the promotion, including the 20 locations in the Cincinnati area. A franchise map can be found on Gold Star’s website. 

Founded by four brothers from Jordan in 1965, Gold Star was originally named Hamburger Heaven—but quickly embraced Cincinnati’s love of all things chili and cheese. In addition to cheese coneys, loaded fries and three-, four- and five-way chili, Gold Star’s menu offers vegetarian options including a meatless chili. 

Gold Star calls National Chili Dog Day a “very Cincinnati day,” encouraging visitors to come and enjoy the Cincinnati staple.
