 Cupid Offers Quite a Lineup

From traditional dinners and drinks to art classes, skating, photo contest—and more—there’s a lot to love

Just call it a super lovefest. Next weekend’s combination of Super Bowl Sunday and Valentine’s Day the day after is providing Greater Cincinnatians with lots to love: You can find plenty of events throughout the area to share with your significant other (or your best friends). And, of course, we’re loving our Cincinnati Bengals in the Big Game for the first time since 1989 at 6:30 p.m. Sunday. Following are some fun Valentine’s Day-related things to enjoy.

Thursday

6 to 7 p.m. Valentine’s Mixology Class, Taft’s Ale House, 1429 Race St., Over-the-Rhine. Learn how to make special cocktails for Cupid’s favorite holiday from one of Taft’s Ale House most experienced bartenders. Limited to 24 people. Enjoy an appetizer while following a step-by-step process of crafting three balanced drinks to enjoy right then and there.

6 to 9 p.m. Uptown Art Presents Artist-Guided Valentine’s Day Painting Class@Big Ash, Big Ash Brewing, 5230 Beechmont Ave., Anderson Township. Each canvas you choose to paint will cost $10. Take-home kits are $20 and include paint, bushes and the canvas for you to enjoy or to gift to someone special. Choose from four holiday-inspired canvasses.

Thursday-Friday

6 to 11 p.m. Valentine’s (Pal-entine’s) at The Park Pour social house, 4815 Cooper Road, Blue Ash. Reserve your spot for a delectable wine paired with aphrodisiacal dinners and decadent desserts and chocolates. Two prix-fixe dinner seatings are planned for 6 to 7:30 p.m. and 8 to 9:30 p.m., with a champagne and desserts seating from 10 to 11 p.m. Or come sit at the bar as a fiercely independent proud single or bring your best Pal and raise a Pal-entine’s glass to great friendships.

Friday-Sunday

Times vary. Hearts Afire Weekend, various locations in Loveland. There’s so much Valentine’s love to go around in Loveland. Live entertainment, cookies, arts events, charity date auction, Valentine’s drinks, photo contest, craft parties, art classes, food trucks, ice sculptures, speed dating, caricature artist and, of course, chocolate treats and samples. Saturday

11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Galentine’s Day Paint & Sip, MadTree Brewing, 3301 Madison Road, Oakley. Grab your girl gang, BFF, mom, sister or your significant other for an afternoon of creativity at MadTree Brewing. Enjoy food and drinks as you paint the perfect painting. You will find a handful of Galentine’s day painting themes to choose from. Session 1: 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.; Session 2: 3 to 6 p.m.

8 to 10 p.m. Mostly About Love, Peterloon, 8605 Hopewell Road, Indian Hill. Vocalist Sarah Folsom and pianist Matthew Umphreys, Cincinnati’s favorite Queen City Cabaret duo, are back with a night of pop, jazz, and musical theater love songs. The stunningly beautiful library of Peterloon Estate is the setting for an evening of beloved tunes by Stephen Sondheim, Nat King Cole, Nina Simone and more. A selection of beer, wine, and cocktails will be available for purchase throughout the evening.

Saturday & Monday

Times vary (currently sold out, but you can get on the wait list). Valentine’s Night at the Cincinnati Observatory, 3489 Observatory Place in Hyde Park. Give your Valentine the moon! Each couple will have their own table with an individual charcuterie board. Then enjoy a romantic tour of the Observatory and (weather permitting) viewing through a historic telescope. Also included is a delicious dessert for two, Observatory stemless glasses and a split of champagne to share, drinks, and a flower for your Valentine. 8 to 9:30 p.m. and 10 to 11:30 p.m. Saturday; 6:30 to 8 p.m. and 8:30 to 10 p.m. Monday.

Monday

7 to 10 p.m. Sweet Harmony—Rhinegeist’s Beer and Dessert Pairing Experience, Rhinegeist Brewery, 1910 Elm St., Over-the-Rhine. Fifth annual Sweet Harmony, a self-guided beer and dessert pairing experience. Indulge in a selection of Rhinegeist beer matched with decadent desserts provided by local confectioners. Cozy up with your sweetheart and listen to live music or re-enact those prom poses at the photo booth.

7:30 to 11:30 p.m. Valentine’s Day Dinner Party at The Point 2022 with Mandy Gaines on Vocals, Schwartz’s Point Jazz & Acoustic Club, 1901 Vine St., Over-the-Rhine. Celebrate Valentine’s Day at the historic, intimate and romantic jazz club. Be transported to another time, and enjoy the polished, mesmerizing voice of singer Mandy Gaines, backed up by some of the best jazz musicians in the city. Buffet dinner.

Sunday, Feb. 20

10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Valentine’s Day Sweet and Savory Stroll, Findlay Market, 1801 Race St., Over-the-Rhine. If you want to celebrate Valentine’s Day a little late, head over to Findlay Market, and enjoy merchants’ sweet and savory samples with a glass of bubbly, live music and warm heaters. More than 25 merchants are participating. Tickets available at the Market Center or on Eventbrite.
