Local businesses are offering many ways to make mom feel special this year
Scrambling to make last-minute plans for Mother’s Day this Sunday? You’re in luck—there are still many options that require little preparation on your part. Below are seven options for the last-minute planner.
Activities
After a year inside, some mothers might love the opportunity to get out of the house. In Lebanon, mothers ride free all day on the LM&M Railroad. A historic train takes riders from the Lebanon station (16 W. South St., Lebanon) to Hageman Junction and back again, and all mothers will receive a special gift, too.
Another option is the Mother’s Day Lunch & Craft Show at Vinoklet Winery (11069 Colerain Ave., Cincinnati). Those who make a reservation can enjoy a special menu. Both indoor and outdoor seating is available. After the meal, families and those without reservations are invited to tour the craft show.
Those who would rather be on the water can take a Mother’s Day Cruise with BB Riverboats (101 Riverboat Row, Newport, Ky.). Families can choose between a bunch or dinner cruise, each of which has a different menu.
If mom is an arts and craft lover, the Brunch & Paint at On the Rhine Eatery inside the downtown Kroger (100 E. Court St., Cincinnati) is a chance to create a painting while enjoying a brunch and wine tasting.
Dining
Several Tristate restaurants are also offering special Mother’s Day menus, although you will need to order in advance.
The Hilton Cincinnati Netherland Plaza (35 W. Fifth St., Cincinnati) is giving mothers a high-end dining experience with a Mother’s Day Brunch at Palm Court. Menu options include prime rib, rack of lamb, crab legs, a charcuterie board and lavender watermelon.
Butler’s Pantry (50 E. RiverCenter Blvd., Covington Ky.) at RiverCenter is also offering a Mother’s Day Brunch, but with lots of Southern favorites. Expect to see sausage breakfast casserole, biscuits and gravy, goetta, fried chicken and more.
And if you’d rather dine at home, Feast by Metropole (609 Walnut St., Cincinnati) has heat-and-eat meals. Feast by Metropole is calling the menu a Mother’s Day Feast, and diners can choose between brunch, which features blueberry and cornmeal pancakes and avocado toast, and dinner, which includes handmade crab and asparagus pasta. All meals must be picked up on either Saturday or Sunday.
