Burrow Out Indefinitely

 Burrow Out Indefinitely

On Sunday, a nightmare scenario became reality for the Cincinnati Bengals.

Rookie quarterback Joe Burrow, rising star of a new-look Bengals squad, was carted off the field in the third quarter after collapsing under a brutal hit from the Washington Football Team.

Burrow tweeted that same day his season was over.

The following day, ESPN reported that Burrow tore his ACL, MCL, and suffered other ligament damage. The injuries put into serious doubt when he will be expected to return.

It’s a crushing blow to a franchise that has struggled to win games this season in recent years and is now without its best player. Burrow has shown unmistakable promise in his brief professional career, and the Bengals will need to continue to improve the offensive line if they are to protect their quarterbacks moving forward.

Brandon Allen, former sixth round pick for the Denver Broncos and current Bengals practice player, will replace Burrow and make his fourth career start on Sunday, according to ESPN.
