As the world thaws, the arts come alive in Cincinnati
As winter loosens its grip, Cincinnati’s arts institutions are ushering in spring with ambitious exhibitions and performances that reward a thoughtful weekend outing.
At the Cincinnati Art Museum, Longing: Painting from the Pahari Kingdoms of the Northwest Himalayas brings 17th–19th century Indian court paintings to the institution, offering works rarely seen in the Midwest. Visitors can pair the exhibition with time in the museum’s other galleries or a walk through Eden Park as the world begins to warm up.
At Music Hall, the Cincinnati Pops Orchestra will perform American Mosaic, a multimedia concert experience running March 13–15. The program, created by composer Peter Boyer with narrator Bill Pullman, weaves together music, spoken word and imagery to showcase defining moments in the nation’s history.
Just a few blocks away, the Aronoff Center for the Arts continues its Broadway season presentation of The Wiz through mid-March. On Saturday, March 14, the Center hosts the 2026 Overture Awards Finals Competition & Awards Ceremony, spotlighting high school musicians, actors and dancers from across the region.
Looking ahead into April, the Aronoff’s will keep the programming coming. The Simon & Garfunkel Story arrives April 1, tracing the musical journey of the duo. Later in the month, Cincinnati Ballet presents Liberty in Motion (April 10–12) followed by its Pinocchio family series (April 16–19).
