Celebrate Mardi Gras in style at one of these local events
Lent is almost upon us, but we have one more day of indulgence before our month of fasting begins. If you’re looking to celebrate Fat Tuesday, head out to one of these local restaurants or breweries tonight for an evening of New Orleans-style music and Cajun cuisine, as well as some fun.
BrewRiver’s Mardi Gras Party

Party menu includes hurricanes, a crawfish boil and king cake. Live music from Cheryl Renee and Ben Levin Blues. Reservations recommended.
Braxton’s Big Easy Bash Mardi Gras Party
Braxton Brewing Co., 27 W. Seventh St., Covington, Kentucky
5-10 p.m.
Features a special menu from Parlor on Seventh (including a smoked Andouille sausage skewer and blackened catfish) and live music from the New Orleans-style party band The Hot Magnolias.
Fasching/Mardi Gras 2022

Fat Tuesday Donut & Beer Walk
The Windamere, 2 S. Main St., Middletown
6-9 p.m.
Try doughnuts from eight spots along the Butler County Donut Trail. Each doughnut has been paired with a beer. Tickets are $15; beer available for purchase. Night also features a doughnut scavenger hunt.
Mardi Gras at Latitudes with the Po’ Boys

New Orleans funk band The Po’ Boys plays all evening.
Mardi Gras for Homeless Children
Northern Kentucky Convention Center, 1 W. RiverCenter Blvd., Covington, Kentucky
6:30-10 p.m., VIP entry at 5:30 p.m.
A culinary tasting event featuring food and drinks from local restaurants such as Blinkers Tavern, E+O Kitchen, Grandview Tavern & Grille and Lisse. Night also includes live entertainment and auctions. The annual event raises money and awareness for three nonprofits that serve homeless children in the region: the Brighton Center, Bethany House Services and the Welcome House of Northern Kentucky. Ticket required.
