Looking Your Best: Get camera ready in a flash and look great all year long
The Holidays are here. That means time with family and friends. Great food, fun parties….and PICTURES! Not feeling camera ready? These tips are simple and you can use them all year long to look your best.
Slim It Down
Whatever is furthest from the camera will be smallest. Simply standing with your weight on your back foot and shifting your hips away from the camera is instantly slimming.
Light It Up
Light can make or break a photo. These are my lighting tips for impromptu snapshots:
– Determine the prominent light source and keep it as close to daylight or white light as possible. This might be a window or an indoor overhead light.
– Set the scene so the light source is at a 45-degree angle.
Just doing selfies with friends? Purchase a small ring light for your cell phone camera. You will all look years younger!
Block It Out
Block unwanted bulge by using someone or something else to hide imperfections.
Going solo is possible with these steps.
– Stand at a slight angle with one foot directly in front of the other.
– Put your weight on your back foot and push your hips back.
– Point your front toe and drop your knee across your other leg.
– Place your hands on your natural waist. This is where you feel your last rib. It is NOT your hips or where your pants naturally sit.
– Twist your wrists in towards the middle of your chest. Your thumbs should be just at the edge of your body. Want to see these tips in action? This short YouTube video (https://youtu.be/jGttUUe6wQI) walks you through them all.
