Greater Cincinnati organizations are offering multiple ways to celebrate Earth Day

This Thursday, April 22, is Earth Day and several local organizations are hosting events to help you celebrate. Whether you prefer in-person or online, there’s an option for you this year.

Virtual Greater Cincinnati Earth Day

The Greater Cincinnati Earth Coalition has moved its annual Earth Day celebration—which is usually a large, in-person event at Summit Park with more than 100 vendors and booths—online again this year. Throughout the day, you’ll be able to tune in to see experts discuss topics such as how to create a pollinator garden, sew your own face mask and use apps to identify stars and planets. The programming can be accessed through the coalition’s Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and YouTube pages.

Art & Earth Day

Pyramid Hill Sculpture Park & Museum, 1763 Hamilton Cleves Road, Hamilton

Pyramid Hill is offering free admission to visitors to both its sculpture park and museum to celebrate Earth Day, Arbor Day and International Sculpture Day. The day features a slate of speakers, a plein air art competition, the Contemporary Art Center’s Family Festival and more.

Everything But The House, 6000 Creek Road, Blue Ash

Everything But The House, the online consignment website, is encouraging residents to reduce waste by asking them to put pre-owned items up for consignment. Anyone can bring an item to be considered. Those that cannot be consigned will be donated to New Life Furniture Bank, St. Vincent de Paul and Matthew 25: Ministries. Junk King will be recycling unwanted or outdated electronics. If you have items you were considering getting rid of but don’t want to go through the trouble of hosting a garage sale, this is an option that also helps reduce waste.
