GET MUY "CALIENTE" WITH THE JDRF

Add some spicy salsa to your life as the Cincinnati chapter of the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation holds its 21st annual "Cincinnatians of the Year" black-tie dinner April 30 at the Hyatt Regency. Mary Ellen and Tom Cody will be honored in grand style at the "Gala Caliente," featuring entertainment by the band Salsa Caliente. Mary Ellen and Tom, who is vice chairman of Federated Department Stores, have spent a lifetime volunteering their expertise, skill and influence to benefit dozens of community organizations. In addition to the hot entertainment, the evening will offer live and silent auctions. The event's corporate co-chairs are George Schaefer Jr., president and CEO of Fifth Third Bank; Fernando Aguirre, president and CEO of Chiquita Brands International; and James Anderson, chief executive of Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center. ROCK AND BOWL FOR CARACOLE IN JUNE

Dust off your old bowling shoes! Add some fine jewels! Caracole has something that might be right up your alley. Bowling is back in style and will provide the theme for the annual Caracole extravaganza on June 11. The Madison Bowl will host this black-tie evening featuring cocktails and dinner. You can gather your own team of 10 or you may choose to join the "Pin Smashers, "Strike Seekers," "The Fast Lane," or other existing teams. Professionals will be on hand to offer bowling tips and instruction. Dinner and bowling are available for $150 per person. Cheerleaders are welcomed as well. CINCINNATI CORPORATE OLYMPICS IN JULY

Get ready to "Hoot With The Suits" and watch corporate types drop their briefcases and their dignity. Twenty-one corporate teams will be on hand to fill Fountain Square and participate in some serious competitive sports such as the "Late-for-Work-Again Relay," "Profit Squeezer," "Jumping Through Hoops" and much more as they gather to support Hamilton County Special Olympics.
