On Sept. 22, Cincy Magazine will host the ATHENA Award ceremony to recognize outstanding women who have achieved professional excellence, given back to their communities and created leadership opportunities for women in the Tristate.

The ATHENA Award is named in recognition of the Greek goddess of wisdom and courage.

Registration and networking will be from 11:30 a.m. "” noon at Xavier University's Cintas Center, followed by lunch and the program.

The keynote speaker is Erin Hoeflinger, president and general manager for Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Ohio. WLWT-TV news anchor Sheree Paolello will be the emcee.

The final day to RSVP to attend the luncheon awards ceremony is Sept. 9.

The Annual Dinner hosted by the Northern Kentucky Chamber of Commerce will start at 5 p.m. Sept. 13 at the Northern Kentucky Convention Center in Covington.  Laura Kroeger of Gateway Community & Technical College will chair the event. 

The highlights will include presentation of awards, the passing of the chairman's gavel, and the speeches of the outgoing and incoming chairpersons. Awards to bare:

WALTER R. DUNLEVY/FRONTIERSMAN AWARD: Established in 1968, this award recognizes an individual who has a lifelong history of outstanding service to the Northern Kentucky community and the nominee's profession or industry, and who exemplifies the highest standards of personal integrity.

WALTER L. PIESCHEL (MVP) AWARD: This award is named in memory of the Northern Kentucky Chamber's first volunteer leader. The award recognizes an individual chamber member who provides outstanding volunteer service as a committee member, a committee chair, or in another special capacity during the past year.

IMAGEMAKER AWARD: This award is presented on special occasions to an individual(s) who brings national or international attention to the Northern Kentucky community through their achievements.

UNITY AWARD: This award is presented to an individual(s) who demonstrates leadership in seeking regional and local solutions to pressing Northern Kentucky challenges or issues.
