Glass, wood and metal are familiar railing materials to architects and designers. The secret is putting them together in new ways, according to Gary Bruckert of One80 Design in Golf Manor. Suspending glass panels between rich wood or metal is one way to preserve a view, open up a room or add a bit of a transitional twist to traditional furnishings and décor. “People want railing systems that don’t block the view,” he says, but still provide the safety and security that traditional wood is known for. Glass can be used to accomplish both. (513) 702-7687,
