After reading your story “The Deal” (September 2008) I wondered what I could do to upset these political bosses and their nice little self-serving arrangements.

For starters, I’m going to vote for Ed Rothenberg and Chris Dole for county commissioner, and I’m telling everyone I know to do the same. I’m also telling friends and family to never cast a vote for anyone who’s running unopposed. Maybe some day we’ll elect a county judge with only 50 votes, and people will start paying more attention to what’s going on.

Keep doing stories like this so these guys know they can’t get away with their games so easily.

Thank you to Felix Winternitz and Cincy magazine for the very well-written article “That Championship Season” (September, 2008). Felix did a wonderful job of telling the Simon Kenton story and managed to accurately recount the timeline of events for the 1980-1981 school year. It was a year not to be forgotten and Felix was able to so eloquently capture those emotions.

The article was a great ending to a very successful inaugural event held by the newly formed Simon Kenton Alumni Association. As a speaker, Nick Clooney lent a great deal of credibility to this event. The Simon Kenton Alumni Association was able to raise more than $25,000 for the new electronic sign that will be placed in front of the school.
