As the election draws near, the problems of Issue 6 are magnified (“Casino Royal Flush?”, October issue). Not only are most of our elected leaders against the proposal, but the economic realities mean that the “projections” of casino revenue are going to be way off — limiting the financial gains.

The loopholes in Issue 6 that we have been raising the alarm about are now being picked up by the media and other outlets. Gov. Ted Strickland, U.S. Sen. George Voinovich, U.S. Rep. Mike Turner, our state senator and representative, the Ohio Chamber of Commerce, the Fraternal Order of Police, major newspapers and thousands of Clinton County residents are opposed to this proposal.

It is not worthy of the Ohio Constitution, and I respectfully ask that you help us defend Clinton County families by voting no on Issue 6.

I want to express my sincere appreciation to Cincy for sponsoring the annual Athena Award.

I especially enjoyed the choice of venue of the Schiff Conference Center at Xavier University. Not having to try to see around structural columns and being in a well-lit room makes it so much easier to be attentive.

We had a wonderful evening on your cruise on The Destiny yacht. We saw old friends and met new people as well. We were lucky enough to win tickets to the murder mystery dinner theater at Dave & Buster’s, and we look forward to that, too.
