Two years ago, the Advertising Club of Cincinnati celebrated its 100th year with a memorable gala at the Cincinnati Museum Center. The mega-celebration motivated the board of directors to implement a long-range plan to propel the AdClub into the 21st century. I won't bore you with all the behind-the-scenes details, because most of you have not only seen many changes but have already responded in a big, big way.

Some big pluses: The creation of AD2 Cincinnati for young advertising professionals 32 and younger"”energizing all of us! The push to include more student AAF chapters in NSAC, in ADDY and more. The extension of AdClub activities to 12 months a year. The procurement of speakers of national and international renown to inform, educate and entertain us at luncheons. The addition of workshops and morning seminars. The introduction of corporate memberships. A new logo and mission statement. And, of course, the after-hours social networking that has generated so much interest. Plus, more program partnerships with more organizations. The benefits at the local, regional and national level have AdClub Cincinnati poised to be a viable, vibrant organization for all marketing and advertising professionals for years to come.

In just a year and a half, under the leadership of Executive Director Judy Thompson, we have grown our membership by 48 percent. And if we continue to offer so many options to small and large businesses, to non-profits, and to the folks in sales and creative, we will succeed in our push to have 500 members within three years.

Yes, things are changing quickly. Week-to-week we will continue to stay in touch with e-mail alerts. And I urge you to check out our web site, adclubcincy.org, for updates on programs and social events.

We have a superb board this year that has tirelessly taken on the challenge to make AdClub Cincinnati the best it can be. With the fast pace of change, if we should happen to overlook something don't hesitate to call me, or Judy, and let us know how to make our club even better.

Mark your calendar for our biggest and most prestigious event of the year, The 2006-2007 ADDY® Awards Exposition & Presentation at Paul Brown Stadium on Feb. 10, where you'll rub elbows with the proverbial "wh'™s wh' of Cincinnati creative advertising. Then, in March get ready for the first-ever AdClub Online Media Auction.

You've helped us create a lot of buzz. So I welcome you to the new AdClub Cincinnati.

The best to all,

Jack Streitmarter, President
