Kona Bistro is one of those emerging businesses that is turning Oakley Square into a bustling attraction, full of one-of-a-kind shops and eateries. Just down the path from King Arthur's Court, the independent toy store, and wedged into the same building as Dewey's Pizza, the bistro isn't simply a coffee hut.

Located in a bright, jazzy space with a high tin ceiling and tall windows, the airy restaurant features contemporary art on the walls and contemporary fare on the menu.

Sandwiches include a "BBT" ($6.50) with maple bacon, fresh basil, Roma tomato and sharp cheddar on crispy white bread, adorned with a zippy black peppercorn mayonnaise.
