"I love to please people," says Bedi, who started in the hospitality industry 25 years ago as a kitchen bus boy.

After working for the W Hotel chain in Chicago, he returned to Cincinnati to planning to create a contemporary banquet facility, and five years ago, Bedi opened Elements in Sharonville.

Since then, he hasn't stopped expanding the center's services and making his customers happy.

The 19,000 square-foot center, once a retail store, has its own kitchen, a grand ballroom, seating for 450 that can be divided into three smaller more intimate spaces for everything from a corporate meeting to a family wedding. Each of the spaces has an audio-visual system.

"We have a one-stop shop approach," says Bedi, who worked at the Westin Hotel and Omni Netherland Plaza in downtown Cincinnati before moving to Chicago. Elements offers everything needed for an event with various packages and pricing options.

"We tell our clients to leave the little things to us," he says. And it's not just at Elements.

Bedi also offers catering for off-site events.

The menu ranges from continental breakfast, boxed and hot lunches, picnic fare and dinner buffets and everything in between.

Elements also has its own limousine service with a 14-passenger Hummer for moving guests to and from events. And about a year ago, Elements launched a party rental service offering everything from tables and chairs to china and tableware for off-site events. Most recently Elements opened a 1,400 square-foot cocktail lounge to host up to 40 people before and after events.

Weddings are a specialty at Elements, and out of 200 annual events, more than half are weddings.

And to make each wedding special, Elements never hosts more than one a night.

"We want to pay full attention to the bride and groom," Bedi says. "Every wedding is totally different. It's something the bride will cherish whether you're spending $1,000 or $10,000."

Nidhi Bedi, Jay's sister and Elements director of sales and marketing, has launched a separate business called A Bride's Mafia, a popular wedding planning service with a list of preferred vendors for everything from wedding attire to honeymoon planning.

All Elements wedding packages include color-coordinated linen tablecloths and napkins; china, flatware and glassware; four-hour room rental; complimentary cake-cutting and plating and unlimited soft drinks, coffee and tea.

Bedi hasn't stopped planning to expand Elements. He wants to add a second limousine and is considering adding a second location in Cincinnati or Northern Kentucky.
