Q. HOW DOES YOUR COLLEGE MEET THE NEEDS OF BUSINESS IN THE REGION?
A. One of our key priorities is working directly with businesses throughout the state. Our innovative masters programs in logistics and supply chain management and our new masters in information systems combine a world-class curriculum, advanced online learning and a culminating project with profit potential for your company. Those programs, plus our new weekend MBA in south Dayton, were all designed with direct input from regional and multi-national companies.
We also offer hiring and recruiting services customized to your company’s talent and staffing goals.

Q. AS AN ADULT WITH WORK AND FAMILY RESPONSIBILITIES, IS A COLLEGE DEGREE RIGHT FOR ME?
A. Yes! Since the days of guaranteed employment are gone, continuous training and education are even more essential to your career and your salary.
Wilmington College Cincinnati Branch has always demonstrated a responsiveness to the educational needs of its adult learners. Excellent instruction, personal attention, and flexible course scheduling are just a few of the hallmarks of the educational experience at Wilmington College Cincinnati Branch. We are proud of our presence in Cincinnati over the past 20 years — a presence that has resulted in more than 1,300 graduates from our programs. We will continue this tradition of excellence at our new Blue Ash beginning Fall 2007.
Q. WITH SUCH A WIDE VARIETY OF EDUCATIONAL PROGRAMS, HOW CAN I DETERMINE WHICH ONE BEST FITS MY INTERESTS AND NEEDS?
A. First, develop a list of criteria important to you: program reputation, content, schedule, cost, admission requirements, etc. Next, research programs online. Often web sites are more thorough than brochures. Then, schedule a visit to programs of interest. Visitors to Miami University’s MBA program, for example, meet MBA students, staff and faculty, and sit in on class. Finally, match your criteria with the information you’ve gathered. The program that best meets your criteria and “feels right” will likely be the one where you are most satisfied and successful. And don’t forget that most schools have application deadlines several months before classes begin. Plan ahead!

Q. HOW CAN I ENHANCE MY CAREER THROUGH CONTINUING EDUCATION?
A. If you truly enjoy your career and do not desire a complete change then taking additional college courses will benefit you. Enhancing your career through continuing education classes is a great way to add to your work experience. Many colleges offer specific clusters of classes that add diversity as well as depth to your career field. We offer such short-term program options in real estate, web design and human resources. This is a great way to “get your feet wet” because most colleges are flexible and do not require a lengthy application process for these types of programs.

Q. WHAT SKILLS SHOULD STUDENTS GAIN TO SET THEM APART FROM THE COMPETITION?
A. Today, more than ever, it’s vital for students to learn the skills that will help them develop innovative solutions to business problems. Students at UC’s College of Business have access to some of the brightest and most innovative minds in the business community, teaching them methods for solving traditional business problems in new and creative ways. These are the skills that make them stand out among the competition.

Q. HOW CAN I GO BACK TO SCHOOL TO ADVANCE MY CAREER AND STILL MEET THE DEMANDS OF WORK AND FAMILY?
A. Many of the students who earn degrees from the Cincinnati Campus of Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University are working adults seeking career advancement in the aviation, aerospace, technology and transportation industries. Specifically to meet the educational needs of working adults, course schedules are flexible, with most classes meeting just one evening per week or on the weekend.
