Shopping at a local farmers market can be fun, productive, supportive of your community and a great opportunity to purchase fresh fruits and vegetables. Every Wednesday the Fairfield Community Arts Center’s Village Green Farmers Market presents a chance to experience an attractive combination of shopping and entertainment.
The market features fresh, locally grown, harvested, baked, made, or otherwise created products every week. It focuses on promoting healthier eating and providing access to a variety of choices, and features over 15 vendors, selling environmentally friendly and handcrafted products such artisan breads, organic coffee, raw local honey, jams and organic vegetables. Other products include cupcakes, cookies and gourmet popcorn. Many of Village Green Farmers Market’s vendors are bakers and farmers, providing food that is grown or produced within 50 miles of Fairfield.
In addition to the produce and goods, shoppers can also enjoy live music. The market features a variety of food trucks as well, including Legasea Café, Best Thing Smokin’, U-Lucky Dawg, Chicken Mac Truck and PowerBlendz Smoothie. The market will continue throughout the summer on Wednesdays until Oct. 3.

4-7 p.m. every Wednesday until Oct. 3. Village Green Park (on the Lane Library side of Village Green), 301 Wessel Drive, Fairfield.
