Abstract Displays Inc., a Cincinnati-based trade show exhibit company, was one of seven regional finalists for the U.S. Chamber of Commerce’s Small Business of the Year Award.

The company, which designs and produces exhibition models for sales and marketing events, was selected as a finalist from among more than 50 U.S. Chamber Blue Ribbon Small Business Award winners. Businesses were evaluated on categories from financial performance and staff motivation to community involvement and customer service.

Abstract Displays not only designs and sells customized displays for corporate events, but assists with coordination of trade shows, trains employees to use the displays, and assembles, dismantles and stores them.

Carla Eng started the business in 2000 in the basement of her West Chester home. Today, the company has a 39,000-square-foot facility and 20 employees.

Eng called the honor of being named a finalist “a testament to the hard work and dedication of everyone in this company — not just for ourselves but for the community in which we work and support.”

The U.S. Chamber is the world’s largest business federation, representing more than 3 million businesses and organizations of every size, sector and region.
