Just because you say something is going to be big doesn’t mean that it will. When Winter Storm Jonas hit the East Coast we were warned that we were next. Schools closed in advance, businesses told employees to leave early and many of us made emergency trips to the grocery store. Instead we received almost nothing. Areas east and south of town were hit, but most of us only saw flurries. All of the build up led to a typical winter Friday.

This same phenomenon can also happen with Cincy Magazine’s Power 100 list. We look at the most influential people of the moment, but also the people we think are going to have an impact the coming year. No matter how much information you have, though, you can’t really predict this. Last year, we had Mitch McConnell and John Boehner tied for No. 1.

This year, we had more changes to the Power 100 list than in any of the 11 other years we’ve published it. More than 20 leaders transitioned to new positions or retired. It’s led us to a year that’s even more unpredictable than usual.

We’ve made our best guess for 2016, but we want to hear what you think. We’ve added plenty of newcomers, but whom did we miss? Who do you see rising to the top in the Tristate? Tweet us your thoughts with the hashtag #Power100, and you just may have your pick included in the April issue.

Thanks,
