Miami University will offer customized corporate training as well as traditional  graduate and undergraduate courses when classes begin at the new Voice of America Learning Center in January.
 
The learning center is in Butler County on land that was once part of the Voice of America Bethany Relay Station on Cox Road. Rod Nimtz, director of the learning center, says the center's loction make education more accessible to residents.
 
"Miami's commitment to serving the region is even more focused by bringing Miami faculty, courses and degrees into the heart of the ever-expanding region between Cincinnati and Dayton," Nimtz says. "This is a project that Miami began in the mid-1990's and has now brought to frutition."
 
In the fall of 2009, the university's Farmer School of Business will begin its professional MBA program at Voice of America.


Recently retired Procter & Gamble vice president Mary Anne Gale was named an executive-in-residence at the Williams College of Business at Xavier University. Gale, who worked at P&G for 35 years, will advise business students in her new role.



For the fifth year in a row, the Williams College of Business at Xavier University was named one of the most outstanding business schools in the nation in an annual publication by The Princeton Review. The results, which are published in the report Best 296 Business Schools: 2009 Edition, are based on student surveys and school data.



The Cincinnati State Technical and Community College board of trustees suspended its search for a new president. Instead, John Henderson, who has been serving as interim president since November 2007, will continue as president until the board resumes it search in 2010. Henderson, who is president emeritus of Wilberforce University, replaced Ron Wright, who resigned in October 2007.



The Bachelor of Science in Information Technology degree offered by the University of Cincinnati’s College of Applied Science is now accredited by the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology Inc. UC is the first Ohio university with an IT bachelor of science degree accredited by ABET Inc.
