Shannah Morris, managing associate at Frost Brown Todd, has been named a YWCA of Greater Cincinnati Rising Star. The group of young professional women was nominated by members of the YWCA Academy of Career Women of Achievement to participate in a program designed to provide unique networking, mentoring and educational opportunities.

Kevin Carter has joined Frost Brown Todd in the business litigation practice group. He represents clients in state and federal courts in a wide range of civil cases and has experience with breach-of-contract claims; fraud, contractual interference, and other business tort claims; partnership disputes and business dissolutions; real estate disputes; banking and finance matters; and creditors' rights issues.

Stephanie Kabat and Zack Hohl have joined Graydon Head's downtown office.
Kabat, who was a summer associate in 2010 and an intern in 2008, will work in banking, financial services and commercial real estate. She is a graduate of Indiana University and the University of Cincinnati College of Law. 
Hohl will work in the commercial real estate, construction, and banking and financial services. He worked with the Ohio Environmental Council and the litigation firm Anspach Meeks Ellenberger LLP.  Hohl is a graduate of the University of Michigan and the University of Toledo College of Law in 2012.

Medicine

Dr. Arthur Arand has been elected chairman of the board and president of the Mayfield Clinic. The neurosurgeon and spine surgery specialist is based in Fairfield. Arand has been medical director at Mercy Hospital Fairfield since 2004 and medical director of the Christ Hospital Spine Surgery Center since 2009. He is an assistant professor of neurosurgery at the University of Cincinnati.

Dr. Jennifer Lobert has joined The Christ Hospital Physicians "” Rheumatology partners in the Norwood and Anderson Township offices. Lobert, a native of Montgomery, completed her medical residency and a rheumatology fellowship at the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine.

Dr. Raj Kakarlapudi has been named medical director of the St. Elizabeth Spine Center in Florence. Kakarlapudi joined Commonwealth Orthopaedic Centers in 2010. Prior to that, he completed a residency at the University of Missouri-Columbia in the department of orthopedic surgery. He also completed a spine fellowship at Indiana Orthopaedic Hospital.

Business

Meghan Glynn has been named director of Calfee Strategic Solutions, a subsidiary of Calfee, Halter & Griswold LLP. The firm advises clients on government and media relations, and public affairs. Glynn, who was vice president for external affairs at the Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport, is on the board of the Prichard Committee for Academic Excellence and is a member of Leadership Cincinnati this year.

Derek Tye has been elected president of the Montgomery Chamber of Commerce. Tye is president of the Tye Group, a real estate sales team with RE/MAX United Associates. He is a graduate of Northern Kentucky University. Also elected were vice president Gerri Harbison, secretary Michelle Brooker and director Scott Reynolds.

Rick Wiley has been named director of graphic design for the Rookwood Pottery Co.
He will oversee the creation and development of all marketing materials for the company, which makes tile and pottery in its Over-the-Rhine studio.

Jeremy Barth has joined Furlong Building Enterprises of Florence as construction manager. Furlong specializes in new buildings, additions and renovations for commercial, industrial, office, medical and retail projects. Barth is a graduate of Northern Kentucky University's Construction Management program.
