The busy holiday travel season is upon us, meaning that many Cincy readers will be winging their way to distant places between Thanksgiving and New Year’s.

Departing-passenger counts at Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport (CVG) have been up the past two years after annual declines that began in 2005, when the airport hit a high of 11,364,701 enplaned passengers. Through September this year, the airport was up about 165,000 departing passengers compared with the same period in 2015.

Average fares for 2015 were the lowest since 2010.
