A year has passed since Ellen Bernstein Ganson lost a heroic battle with breast cancer at the age of 49, but the unusual local fundraiser she co-founded to fight the disease lives on.
With “Bricks Along the Journey,” artists transform bricks salvaged from buildings into beautiful works of art, which are then auctioned. The money goes to the Greater Cincinnati Breast Cancer Alliance’s Ellen B. Ganson Fund, which benefits programs and patients exclusively in Cincinnati. Bricks auctions have raised more than $100,000, and contributed to getting a Cincinnati delegate on the National Board of the Breast Cancer Alliance.
