Whether your event is for six or several hundred people, the Cooper Creek Event Center overlooking the Blue Ash Golf Course on Cooper Road has the room and amenities to make it memorable.

“We can handle just about anything, from a corporate event to a graduation party to a cocktail reception,” says Barb Griffin, general manager of the facility owned by the City of Blue Ash.

Since opening in January 2012, Cooper Creek has seen a steady increase in events, from 150 its first year to 200 last year and a projected 250 this year.

“Our goal is to fill this space and provide awesome services to all our clients,” says Griffin.

The multi-million dollar facility, financed by a portion of a 0.25 percent earnings tax approved by residents in 2007, was built to enhance the award-winning par-72 golf course that opened in 1979.

Designed by SHP Leading Design, the two-story event center features stone, wood and floor-to-ceiling windows offering abundant light and stunning views overlooking the golf course, which is rated one of the top municipal courses in the country by Golf Digest magazine.

The veranda running the length of the building’s northern exposure overlooks the 18th green, an outdoor wedding venue and the first tee. The golf clubhouse and Sand Trap Grill are located on the lower level.

The main floor features three rooms—each appropriately named after the famous courses of Muirfield, Augusta and Pinehurst—that can be booked separately or in combination, or even combined into one grand ballroom of nearly 7,000 square feet, capable of seating 400.

Across the main entrance hallway is a smaller, 1,000-square-foot room named after the Oakmont Country Club for groups of less than 50 and a mezzanine upstairs for cocktail receptions.

Griffin says Cooper Creek hosts a wide variety of corporate events, such as golf outings, small trade shows and six-person meetings in the center’s conference room. The facility offers wireless Internet and the latest audio/visual technology.

Cooper Creek, named for the stream that meanders through the golf course, hosts about 50 weddings annually. Earlier this year, Cooper Creek was named “Best of Weddings” by wedding website TheKnot.com for the second year in a row.

Event and wedding catering is provided through Vonderhaar’s Catering in Reading. The wedding menu ranges from hot and cold hors d’oeuvres to plated and buffet dinners featuring beef tenderloin, chicken, fish and more.

Among the wedding amenities are a private bridal suite, full-service cherry wood and granite bar and stone fireplaces, as well as the golf course venues that offer plenty of wedding photo opportunities.

“I’m really not aware of another venue like it,” says Griffin.
